What should dads pack for the birth?

Besides mum and baby, dad also needs to pack a hospital bag ready to take along, to make caring for mum and baby easier.

Here is a list of things dad should prepare for the birth:

Mum's hospital admission documents: citizen ID card (CCCD), health insurance card, antenatal record book and pregnancy test results.

Cash and ATM card: To pay hospital fees and other expenses.

Phone and power bank: Dad needs these to stay in touch when needed.

Personal hygiene items for dad: Bath towel, toothbrush – toothpaste, face towel.

Pillow and blanket: don't forget to bring a pillow and blanket so you can stay to look after mum and baby.

Clothes and shoes: 4 – 5 sets of clothes to change into. And a pair of handy sandals or comfortable shoes for getting around easily.

Also, if you have booked a birth package at the hospital, contact the hospital for details of what items they have already prepared for you and your baby. This will help you save on some shopping costs in the first days after birth.
